Craft Workshop: Inkle Loom Weaving for Beginners

February 3 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join weaver Andy Leisk for an introduction to inkle loom weaving which can be used to create scarves, straps, and ribbons. Participants will learn about the structure and nomenclature of looms, how to plan a pattern and warp it, and finally, how to weave, resulting in a completed project to take home. Looms, yarn, and all other materials will be provided.

Andy Leisk has been weaving on inkle looms, table looms, and floor looms for about 30 years. He is a member of the Wisconsin Handweavers Inc. guild in Milwaukee and has been a historical interpreter at Heritage Hill for the last 10 years. He has woven inkle bands, tablecloths, dish towels, shawls, rugs, and blankets, owns numerous looms, and often has multiple weaving projects going at the same time.
