Craft Workshop

18th Century Men’s Night Cap:

Are you interested in men’s fashion of the 18th century? If so, this one-hour sew-along workshop focusing on 18th century men’s light linen leisure and night caps is for you! Join historian and tailor Trygvie Jensen as he guides you through this easy beginner sewing project. He will provide the materials required for this 18th century accessory that was a common leisure item and popular well into the 19th century, along with reference materials to expand your knowledge of men’s fashion during this period.

18th Century Mitten Making:

Join historian and historic tailor Jay Oestreich as you cut out and hand sew a pair of mittens suitable to Heritage Hill’s 18th century La Baye area of the park. A variety of sizes will be available to make, along with written instructions and all needed construction materials. Reference citations will be available for take home as further individual research as well.
